The kids are still sleeping after a late night marathon of Scooby-Doo dvds in Wyatt's room, and 2 of the dogs are lazily stretching by my feet. Hooch and Hallie are both happy I am awake so they can accompany me around the house, checking on laundry and making beds. I have fresh coffee and the windows are open. I can detect the barest hint of cinnamon in the flavor of my cuppa joe. The chatter of the birds sounds fantastic to me as I sit here poised to begin this blog. The day and the blog are full of promise. Of course, I have grand ideas and schemes and plots and plans for this blog. Let's just get it started first and see how we do.
He is roughly a year old, a young adult dog. Australian Cattle Dog- blue heeler variety. Absolutely gorgeous. GOT ENERGY? He shows some signs of prior abuse. He cowers at new people, especially men. He has a bit of separation anxiety. He chews anything in his path...toys, umbrellas, lawn furniture, deer targets....I could go on but it would be painful. So far we have at least gotten down the boundary of our yard, not to potty in the garage, 'SIT!' and to not jump in the van the second anyone opens the door. It was extremely hairy trying to go anywhere the first month. Zip would immediately jump in the van. Sometimes still, if he feels affronted, he will stick his nose in the way so it's difficult to shut the door. We're working on that yet. There are still a lot of bugs to get worked out with this new member of the family. Right now I think any of my profits or paychecks are headed toward "Zip's Training" Fund. Darn pretty pain in my keister though, he is.
I have been working on projects for my upcoming Workshops at Michael's. Some hand stitched items in Patriotic themes. Here is a sneak peek of some in progress.
There will be trials and errors with these new ventures of mine.
I invite you to come along with me and learn. I laugh at myself all the time so don't feel bad when you do. Just don't point at the same time. And if I have something in my teeth, for crying out loud...TELL ME!!!
The kiddos are up and the washing machine stopped, so I guess I have some chores to get on with. *Raises three fingers and pledges*
"In this blog, I not so solemly swear to talk about, in no particular order: crafts & holidays, inspiration & home, projects & classes, dogs & kids, coffee & music or whatever else might be on my mind."
Welcome to Twinkle Hill.
